My first friend in life is getting married this upcoming weekend and we just returned from her bachelorette in Bancroft, Ontario at the southern tip of Algonquin Park. "CAMP GILL" was the theme and all bridesmaid bias aside...it was sooo fun. I won't write too much about the weekend (the jokes/stories are never as funny for everyone else) but I wanted to share some photos and a few of the activities that we did if you ever find yourself planning a camp-themed gathering.
The resort we stayed at was outfitted like an adult summer camp - from the row of cabins, to multiple fire pits, to private lake (that had a water slide, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, etc). There was also a hot tub and multiple tiki bars with a surround sound system that piped our playlists throughout the entire resort. Oh, and I can't forget the little chipmunks that kept us company during our morning coffee (with baileys).
Although it looked like fall, it felt like mid-summer with temps +30C every day - so we spent A LOT of time in the water. Some of the other activities included: beer olympics (cabins vs. cabins in flip cup, beer pong, ice cube tray game, cornhole etc.), pancake kegger, campfire and s'mores, scavenger hunt, field trip to bancroft brewing co., hot tubbing, champagne canoe pop/sunset toast, Eagles' Nest lookout, and a nighttime fire show by the resort host (an unexpected surprise treat).
WELCOME TO CAMP LETTER
The bride-to-be received this "Welcome to Camp Gill" letter in the mail about a month before the bachelorette. Without mentioning the exact location (so that she couldn't Google the property beforehand), the camp package included a welcome letter, custom map, and packing list to get her excited for "booze, canoes, and beautiful views."
Our friend Lexi of Paper & Poste is crazy talented and even created a custom logo which we used for ALL of the merch throughout the weekend: flashlights, t-shirts, mugs, tattoos, camp journal, hangover kits etc.
