I used to have this series on my blog called “Things Lou Loves.” As I’ve let blogging fall by the wayside over the past several months, I realized how much I miss documenting moments/memories and sharing them with all of you. With that, I’m reincarnating my series of things I’m LOVING LATELY! It’s fun to look back on the weird stuff I used to be obsessed with and HOPEFULLY you’ll love and get inspired by some of the links and recommendations too!
Without further ado, here’s volume 1 of my “LOVING LATELY” series:
Game of Thrones Season 8 and if you haven’t read this incredible essay by Emilia Clarke (Khalessi) in The New Yorker about the battle for her life after suffering two brain aneurysms — I highly recommend
Just started but am loving Kate Harris’ debut travel memoir about cycling the silk road called Lands of Lost Borders, of which she just won the 2019 RBC Taylor Prize ~ I hesitate to even call it a travel memoir because it is so much more profound than that. Also fascinated with Kate Harris in general and how she articulates the writing process. She grew up in Canada, was a Rhodes Scholar, and now lives off-grid in a cabin in the woods on the border of B.C. and Alaska with her wife (I’ve been devouring a lot of articles about her!)
Bubly sparkling water (I drink so much of it I would gladly be their spokesperson)
Anthropologie’s aesthetic (their instagram videos / website graphic design makes me happy)
