I've been missing from the blogosphere for a little bit while spending some time off the grid at my parent's cottage in Norway Bay. I found a way to milk sporadic wifi connections when necessary, but mostly it was great to have a technology break. I felt the fog hugging my brain slowly evaporate.
Since Canada Day fell smack in the middle of the week this year (humpday treat!) both weekends seemed to blend into one (guess that's what happens when you're funemployed). I enjoyed some days of solitude up there filled with morning farmland runs, porch coffee / reading / writing and sunset paddles. All the usual suspects weaved in and out so I was also able to sneak in some quality social time with a few of my favourite creatures.
My friend, Marcie, added a new addition to her inflatable animal kingdom; the elusive flamingo, all the way from Australia! A rare bird indeed. Unfortunately it popped on its first day of freedom from a flight gone awry (take-off was superb; water landing not so great).
Luckily, Giant Flamingo heard about the poor injured bird and sent a new one from down under (talk about good customer service).
We enjoyed some sunny bay play on the beach and hopefully the 'mingo will re-join our flock by August long weekend!
