I've been meaning to give a bit more context and explain (mostly to my parents) what exactly "glamping" is. It was a new concept for me at first too!

What the heck is "glamping"?
"Glamping, also known as luxury camping or glamorous camping, is that escape you've been meaning to take. It's that little break from the hustle and bustle. It's a moment by yourself in a secluded treehouse. It's that chance to try climbing up a mountain or diving into the sea. It's your chance to be adventurous, be secluded, be daring, be free - glamping lets you do all of that and more." - Glamping Hub
"A global trend has caught fire that offers outdoor enthusiasts an upgrade on rest and recreation. It's called glamping - a new word for a new kind of travel - a fusion of glamour and camping." - Glamping.com
What's Glamping Hub then?
Think AirBnB for quirky, obscure locales. (That's the shortest definition I can think of to explain it quickly!)
"Glamping Hub is the world's first online booking platform offering luxury camping and alternative accommodations on all five continents. With more than 7,000 unique glamping sites in 90 countries, and a vast range of prices and amenities, Glamping Hub connects travelers with nature in a whole new way, providing off-the-grid, sustainable, and truly one-of-a-kind lodging and outdoor adventure in some of the most breathtaking landscapes on earth." -GH
What are the benefits of glamping when you travel?
Ecologically-Friendly: With glamping, less is more. Whereas energy and materials used in the construction and management of a small hotel are quite high, in many cases glamping accommodations take advantage of surrounding elements of nature. Composting toilets, solar power, and working gardens are just a few examples. Or, if you're lucky, you can find yourself sleeping in a repurposed carousel or caravan - things that might have been discarded or forgotten are transformed into beautiful and very unique glamping sites. -GH
You Can't Get Any Closer to Nature: Glamping lets you connect with and experience nature in an unforgettable way. Escape from the loud, impersonal city. Take a break from the busy suburbs. Glamping provides an opportunity to relax and recharge when life becomes hectic. Wake up and step outside a tree house into your own private natural retreat. -GH
The Adventures are Endless: Hiking, mountain biking, white water rafting, canoeing, animal watching, and wine tasting are just a few of the activities you can participate in while enjoying your glamping experience. In Norway you can find yurt-style accommodations situated in some of the best mountain biking terrain in the world. The United States offers luxury camping sites in some of the country's most breathtaking National Parks. Climb in a land rover and venture out into the African desert. The world's wilderness is waiting! Glamping can take you there. -GH
